JS Bank Limited sponsored Pakistan’s first-ever International Media Conference titled One World One Media organized by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists from May 1 to 3 in Karachi.
The conference was inaugurated on May 1 in which delegates from more than 15 countries participated. The conference discussed media’s role in a democracy and in ending conflicts; role of civil society, its uses and abuses in media; embedded journalism; concentration of media ownership; global terrorism and role of media.
The conference provided a platform to journalists and media community to highlight the need to defend freedom of expression and human rights. It also projected a soft image of Pakistan through international media’s participation. “We look forward to continue supporting such events that don’t only provide a platform to the media but also to make people aware of the facts up close and personal”, said Syed Naveed Rahman, representative of JS Bank Limited speaking on the occasion.
