BankIslami expands to 102 branches in 49 cities across Pakistan

BankIslami has created history by setting up 102 branches in 49 cities across Pakistan in less than three years of its operations. This is the fastest ever network expansion by any bank in Pakistan's banking history.


Talking to media in the Head Office, Mr. Hasan A. Bilgrami, CEO BankIslami said that 102 branches covering 49 cities across Pakistan have made BankIslami the fastest growing Islamic Bank in Pakistan. He added that about 30% of the Branches cater to the un-banked rural/sub-urban areas of the country. He further said that all 102 BankIslami branches are online, which enable BankIslami customers to make transactions and access their accounts anywhere across the network in 49 cities. 2009 has been earmarked by the Bank as the year of consolidation placing itself firmly as a growing mid sized Bank.


BankIslami has taken lead by providing its customers value added services including Biometric ATM, Internet Banking and ATM based Inter Bank Fund Transfer.


BankIslami's 102 branches are spread all across Pakistan. The Bank now has 37 branches in Sindh, 44 Branches in Punjab, 11 in Baluchistan, 8 in NWFP and 2 in Azad Kashmir.


The Bank stood at a branch network of 36 branches in 23 cities at the beginning of 2008 and has opened 64 fully functional branches to cover 26 more cities starting from July 2008. The HR Team of BankIslami has achieved the daunting task of hiring around 600 quality Banking professionals into the BankIslami family to complement the aggressive branch expansion. BankIslami's employee count has witnessed two fold increase to more than 1,200 employees in 2008 from a mere 563 in 2007.
